Introduction – It’s Nice To Meet You

Tamar Hydro Pty Ltd is the largest manufacturer of hydro turbines in the Australasia/Pacific region and has built in excess of 200 turbines. Tamar Hydro (also known as Tamar) has extensive experience with major project work gained over 40 years specialising in the design, manufacture and service of hydroelectric power generation plants.

Our History in the Renewable Energy Space

Tamar Hydro (formerly Tamar Designs Pty Ltd, Tyco Tamar, Pentair Tamar) was established over 40 years ago as a small engineering company specialising in the design and manufacturing of hydroelectric power generation plants.  We can also assist you with full service, maintenance, refurbishment, and consultancy services in relation to your hydroelectric power generation needs. Turbine types that are designed and manufactured by Tamar include Pelton, Turgo Impulse, Francis and Kaplan, which you can see in more detail on our products tabs.

Providing You The Full Solution

Tamar Hydro has the experience to act as project coordinator and can provide installation and commissioning engineers, thus ensuring a successful interface between the major contractor and turbine supplier.

Tamar Hydro is able to carry out engineering on existing hydro installations that may allow the owner to increase the power output of older machinery and extend the effective life of the asset.
